I gave the plug a look-over, didn't see anything obvious, but I'll check again for corrosion more closely. So, you reckon a dodgy connection could really make the engine run rough?

Absolutely. If the ECU is getting bad data from the water sensor due to a faulty connection, it can definitely mess with the engine's performance. I'd say it's worth taking it to a workshop and getting it properly diagnosed. They'll have the tools to check the wiring thoroughly.

Cheers for the advice! Turns out you were spot on about the connection. Took it to a shop, and they cleaned up and re-secured the plug. Error is gone and motor runs smoothly. Cost me 95€, but worth it for the peace of mind.

Water sensor... Hmm, those can be tricky. Are you sure the plug connection isn't damaged or corroded? That's usually the culprit with these sensor faults. Any signs of moisture intrusion?
