Avventura electronic handbrake failure
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Fiat Avventura diesel is experiencing a complete failure of the electronic handbrake, with a fault stored in the error memory and a warning light on. The brake switch was checked and found to be fine. A similar issue was resolved by addressing a defective electric motor in the brake calliper, which is suggested as the likely cause. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop, where the calliper motor can be repaired or replaced.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks for the quick response! I did have a quick look at the sensor, but wasn't sure what to look for. What exactly happened with yours? Was it the same symptoms?

Yep, same symptoms exactly. The error codes pointed to a problem with the motor in the brake calliper. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop; could be a defective electric motor in the calliper as you said. Unfortunately, vehicle safety is a big issue when your electronic brake doesn't work anymore. It cost me around 500€ to repair.

Thanks a lot for the info! Sounds like I'm heading to the workshop then. I appreciate you confirming it; at least I have an idea of what to expect. It was indeed the calliper motor. Got it fixed for 505€

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Avventura. The electronic parking brake just gave up. Did you check the brake sensor? Could be that. Although I suspect it's more than that, sadly.
