Avventura fuel level sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Fiat Avventura diesel with 200,453 km had a check engine light and stalled at idle, with a diagnostic scan indicating a fuel level sensor issue. The fuel gauge was also fluctuating erratically, especially when the fuel level was low. The problem was confirmed to be a faulty sensor within the fuel tank. Replacing the sensor resolved the issue, turning off the check engine light and stopping the stalling.

Yes, the fuel gauge fluctuates somewhat erratically, especially when the fuel level is low. Could you provide more details regarding the nature of the issue in your vehicle and the resolution?

In my case, it turned out to be a faulty sensor within the fuel tank. I didn't troubleshoot it myself. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to confirm the diagnosis.

Took it to a workshop, and the diagnosis confirmed the fuel level sensor fault. Replaced the sensor at a cost of 52€. The check engine light is now off, and the engine no longer stalls. Thanks for the help.

I had similar symptoms in my Avventura, and it also pointed to the fuel level sensor. If the gauge is fluctuating or reading inaccurately, it might be a sensor fault. Is the fuel gauge behaving erratically?
