Avventura System Readiness Check Incomplete

Hi, I have a strange issue with my 2016 Fiat Avventura, gasoline engine, with 152059 km on the clock. The system readiness check is incomplete. I'm getting an error stored and a persistent error message displayed. I recently used an OBD2 scanner to read data, and I suspect that's the cause. Has anyone experienced something similar after using an OBD2 device?

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Fiat Avventura owner experienced an incomplete system readiness check and error messages after using an OBD2 scanner. This issue is common with some Fiat models, where system readiness monitors may not reset automatically after diagnostics. The problem typically resolves itself after a certain number of drive cycles if no underlying issues exist. In this case, driving approximately 50 km allowed the system to complete its checks, resolving the issue without any repair costs.

That's a common problem after using OBD2 diagnostics on some Fiat models. The system readiness monitors might not reset automatically. Which monitors are showing as incomplete?

Thanks for the quick response. I'm not sure which specific monitors are incomplete; I'll have to check again with the OBD2 scanner. Is there a specific procedure for resetting these monitors, or should they eventually reset on their own after driving a certain distance?

They should eventually reset themselves after a certain number of drive cycles if all the required conditions are met. However, if some underlying issue exists, they might not reset at all. I'd suggest checking the specific monitors using the OBD2 scanner and verifying that there are no other fault codes present. If the monitors still won't reset after several drive cycles, a trip to a workshop might be necessary to further investigate.

Thanks for the advice. It turned out that after driving for around 50 km the error disappeared and the system readiness check was successful. The mechanic said that the system needed some time to check the exhaust system after the car diagnostics. The repair cost was 0€, as it resolved itself. Thanks again!
