Avventura Terminal 30 Issue

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2018 Fiat Avventura diesel. It's got about 110k km on the clock. The problem seems to be with Terminal 30 - continuous plus is getting interrupted somehow. The main symptom is that the vehicle struggles to start. I haven't done much troubleshooting myself, mostly just checked the usual obvious things like fuses, but nothing seems obviously blown or loose.

Summary of the thread

The issue with the 2018 Fiat Avventura diesel involves an interruption in Terminal 30, affecting the vehicle's ability to start. The problem was suspected to be related to the power supply, potentially caused by a faulty battery, voltage drops, or shorts in the wiring. The suggested solution was to have the battery load tested and, if necessary, seek professional help to avoid damaging the vehicle's electronics. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by replacing a heavily discharged and defective battery.

Whoa, interrupted Terminal 30? That's not good. Sounds like a power supply gremlin. First things first, have you noticed any flickering lights or strange behavior from the electronics when it does start? Also, has the battery been load tested recently? A dying battery can cause all sorts of weird issues with modern cars.

No flickering lights, nothing like that. Just the poor starting. I haven't load tested the battery, no. Is that really likely even if it's holding a charge?

Yep, even if it seems to be holding a charge, a battery with a dead cell can still show decent voltage but fail under load. If it ain't the battery, then you gotta start chasing voltage drops and shorts. Could be a dodgy fuse box, a chafed wiring harness somewhere, or even a short circuit draining the battery. Honestly, with Terminal 30 involved, I'd bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. Messing with the power supply can fry sensitive electronics if you're not careful.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I suspected it might be something along those lines. I'll take it to a trusted workshop. It turned out to be a heavily discharged and defective battery. The final repair cost was 290€.
