Aygo automatic transmission implausible shifting

My 2005 Toyota Aygo with a gasoline engine is acting up. It's got 105k km on the clock and the automatic transmission is going bonkers. I'm getting implausible shifting, the transmission light is on, and sometimes it just won't shift properly, like it's stuck in emergency mode. Could this be a slipping transmission issue? I am wondering whether a transmission flush would help, or if it's more serious. Any ideas?

Woah, sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my Aygo's auto 'box. Was the undervoltage in the vehicle the likely cause in your case? How did you figure that out? I had all those symptoms: weird shifting, the light, everything. Super annoying!

Undervoltage, huh? That's interesting! How did you eventually resolve it and what was the eventual repair cost? Did you notice any difference in transmission performance after the repair?

Yeah, workshop guys checked everything and said it was most likely the undervoltage messing with the transmission control unit. Apparently, it can cause all sorts of havoc with the hydraulic fluid and shifting. They sorted the voltage issue and did a transmission oil change as well. Cost me about 240€. I would recommend going to the workshop!

Thanks for the tip! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. It was undervoltage causing the transmission issues. They fixed the electrical problem, changed the transmission oil, and now it's shifting smoothly again. Cost me around 240€ too. Appreciate the help!
