Aygo brake booster error

I've got a 2014 Toyota Aygo with a gasoline engine and I'm having some brake issues. I'm getting an error message and the braking feels weak. A diagnostic shows a brake booster pressure sensor failure. The car has 106864 km. Could this be related to a bad brake booster, or something else? I recently had some work done on the brakes, could the brake system bled incorrectly be the reason?

Hey there! Sounds frustrating. I had something similar happen with my old Opel Corsa. Same error message and spongy brake pedal. After changing the brake pads, the mechanic hadn't bled the brake lines properly, which messed with the ABS system and the brake booster. Maybe get a second opinion?

Interesting! So, you think it's more likely to be a bleeding issue rather than the sensor itself? Was the error code the same on your Opel? How did you solve this?

Well, it’s hard to say for sure without proper diagnostic tools. But yeah, the error codes were related to the brake booster and ABS. I'd start by checking the brake lines for air. In my case, the workshop bled the system correctly and cleared the error memory and that was it. I’d recommend taking it to a professional, especially as it affects the braking.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to a mechanic, and you were right. The brake system bled incorrectly. They re-bled the system, cleared the error, and now it's all good. Cost me 90€.
