Aygo cruise control failure

Hey, my 2011 Toyota Aygo with a gasoline engine has a cruise control issue. It suddenly stopped working. The car has 94509 km on it. Diagnostics show an error stored, but the cruise control won't engage. Fuses are fine. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my Aygo recently. The error memory pointed to a defective cable or plug connection. Did you check the speed sensors? Sometimes a faulty speed sensor can prevent the cruise control from working. Is there any dashboard light illuminated?

Thanks! I haven't checked the speed sensors specifically. The brake lights seem fine. Which speed sensor should I be focusing on? And which dashboard light are you referring to?

When my cruise control failed, I looked at the sensors for the wheel speed. Since you have the error in memory, going to a workshop to have it diagnosed will save you a lot of time. In my case, the mechanic pinpointed the issue to a corroded connector. This may also affect other safety systems, so it is a good idea to get it checked out.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I took it to the workshop, and as you suspected, it was indeed a defective cable connection. The repair cost me 95€. Now the cruise control works perfectly again!
