Aygo headlight servomotor issue

I've got a 2014 Toyota Aygo with a gasoline engine and about 70k km on the clock. I'm having a weird issue with the headlights. The error memory has logged a fault, and there's a warning light on the speedometer. The low beams are either pointing way too low or way too high – seems random. Could it be a defective servomotor in the headlight, perhaps? Has anyone experienced something similar? I've checked the electrical connectors, and they seem fine, but I haven't dug too deep into the headlight switch or control module yet. Adaptive headlights are fitted.

I had a similar problem with my Aygo. Is the beam adjustment completely off, or is it just intermittent? Could be worth checking the servomotor and connections again. Seems like a common thing. Are you sure the connectors are properly seated?

Thanks for the quick reply! It's definitely intermittent. Sometimes it's fine, other times the beams are way off. You reckon it's definitely the servomotor then? I'll double-check the connections again, but if it's intermittent, wouldn't that point more towards a faulty component rather than just a loose connection?

Yeah, intermittent issues can be a pain. In my case, it turned out to be the servomotor. Given the error code and symptoms, I'd say it's highly likely. At this point, I'd recommend getting it checked out at a workshop, I'm afraid. The beam adjustment is quite complex.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – defective servomotor. The repair set me back about 1040€, but at least it's sorted now. Appreciate the help!
