Thanks for the quick reply. Were your symptoms exactly the same, especially the intermittent locking and unlocking? Did you also have an error stored? Did you replace the fob battery yourself?

Yes, all symptoms were identical. Intermittent locking, unlocking, the whole shebang. I didn't check for error codes myself, but I assume it would have thrown some. I'd suggest getting a professional to do the battery replacement. They can make sure everything is properly reset afterwards.

I appreciate your thoughts. I took your advice and had the fob battery changed. The error is gone, and keyless entry works again. It cost 37€.

Yep, had the exact same problem with my B Klasse! Drove me nuts. Replaced the fob battery and it fixed everything immediately. Was getting constant low voltage warnings. Check your battery type, it's usually a CR2025 or something similar. Quick and easy fix.
