B Klasse oil warning light issue

I only checked the error message and the warning lights. I didn't physically check the engine oil level with the dipstick, is that what you mean by oil gauge? Is it possible to only check the signal of the oil level sensor?

Yes, use the dipstick to manually check the engine oil level. While you're at it, inspect the oil level sensor's wiring harness for any obvious damage. It is difficult and not recommended to check the sensor signal without the correct tools, so unless you have the necessary equipment, it would be best to visit a workshop. Given the error codes you're seeing, and the potential for a defective cable or plug connection, it's likely a sensor issue. In my case, it was indeed the sensor, and replacing it resolved the problem.

Thanks for the advice! I checked the oil level with the dipstick and it was fine. Took it to the workshop as you suggested and they confirmed it was a faulty connection to the oil level sensor. The cable was replaced and now it's working normally.

I had a similar issue with my B Klasse, though I can't recall the exact mileage at the time. The oil monitoring system went haywire. Did you check the oil gauge itself or just rely on the electronic readings? Often, the sensor malfunctions before any actual drop in engine oil level. Sometimes, the oil level sensor behaves erratically, and it might not accurately reflect the actual amount of automotive oil present. If you're lucky, it's a faulty sensor and not something more serious. Was anything else happening at the same time?
