Barchetta Electric Steering Column Fault

My 2004 Fiat Barchetta with a gasoline engine has an electric steering column adjustment fault. There's an error stored, and the column won't adjust. Diagnostics point to a defective cable or plug. Any ideas?

Hey! I own a Barchetta too. Did it make weird noises before it died? Check the fuses first, then wiggle some wires. Might save you money!

I didn't notice any noises. Could you be more specific about which wires?

I'm no expert, but for me, it was the connection block under the steering wheel column cover. Remove it and check for corroded or loose wires. But I also agree with the workshop guy: don't force it, take it to a workshop!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I proceeded with caution and it was exactly what you and the error log said: A defective cable connection which the shop repaired for 95€.
