Barchetta emergency call system malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Fiat Barchetta owner reported a malfunction in the emergency call system, indicated by an error message and warning light. Diagnostic information suggested a defective cable or plug connection as the cause. Another owner shared a similar experience, recommending a workshop visit. The issue was resolved by re-seating a loose connector, which cleared the error.

Constant beeping is not something I have experienced. The warning light is just on. Could you provide more detail on the symptoms you observed and what the underlying cause was?

Okay, maybe not constant beeping, but definitely the flashing light and the error message were there. I was getting worried it was something serious with the engine, but the mechanic said it was just a bad connection in the emergency call system. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop; it's better to be safe than sorry with these things.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Based on your suggestion and the diagnostic information, I inspected the cable connections myself. As suspected, there was indeed a loose connection. After re-seating the connector, the error disappeared. I also had the error memory cleared to be sure. The total repair cost was 95€ for the diagnostic and memory clearing. I appreciate the input.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had something like that happen in my Barchetta. It was driving me nuts! Was it like, constant beeping and flashing lights? Like a Christmas tree gone haywire?
