Barchetta fuel mixture issue
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Fiat Barchetta is experiencing issues with incorrect fuel composition, indicated by a check engine light, engine stalling at idle, and a fuel mixture error code. The problem might be due to a cable or plug connection issue, or possibly bad fuel from a recent fill-up. Suggested solutions include checking for bad fuel or taking the car to a mechanic to inspect and potentially fix any faulty connections.

Thanks! Can you tell me more about what happened with yours? What caused it, and how did you fix it?

Sure thing! If I remember correctly, it started after I filled up at a station I usually avoid. I'm pretty sure they had some water contamination in their tanks, or maybe it was just low-quality fuel. The symptoms were almost exactly as you described. Eventually, I took it to a workshop and they fixed it. It's like trying to fix a broken TV yourself - sometimes you just need a professional!

Got it. I'll take it to a mechanic. It's probably a bad cable or plug connection, which will cost about 95€ to fix. Thanks!

Oh, that sounds familiar! I had a Barchetta, though I can't recall the exact year, and I had similar issues. Check engine light, rough idling, the whole shebang. Did you recently fill up at a new gas station or try any fuel additives? Maybe you got some bad gas. It's like when you eat something that doesn't agree with you, and your stomach starts acting up!
