Barchetta Terminal Ignition Error
Summary of the thread
The conversation centers around a Terminal 15 ignition positive error in a 2003 Fiat Barchetta, causing the engine not to start. The error is stored in the error memory, and initial checks show no voltage drop in the fuse box. A similar issue in another car was resolved by addressing a corroded connection in the ignition circuit. The suggested solution is to check all connections, particularly around the ignition switch, and consider professional assessment if the issue persists.

Thanks. Yes, the error memory indicates the Terminal 15 fault. When you say 'all the connections', can you be more specific about which connections were problematic for you? I'm trying to isolate the fault systematically, so any guidance is welcome before I dig in further.

In my case, if I recall correctly, the main issue was around the ignition switch itself, the plug was a bit loose and had some corrosion. But honestly, it was a bit of a wild goose chase, and in the end, I had to take it to a workshop. Unless you have the equipment to properly test the circuit, it might save you time and money in the long run. They charged me a fortune!

Thanks for sharing your experience. Given the uncertainties, I'll get a professional assessment at a workshop. The repair should be about 95€. I appreciate your help.

Ah, I had a similar issue with my old Opel Corsa, completely different car, I know, but the symptoms sound eerily familiar. The car just wouldn't start, and it turned out to be a corroded connection somewhere in the ignition circuit. I'm no expert, but have you checked all the connections thoroughly? Sometimes it's the simplest things that cause the biggest headaches. Did you already check the error memory?
