Barchetta Transport Mode Active Electrical Malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Fiat Barchetta is experiencing a "transport mode active" message, a general electrical malfunction, and a non-functional navigation system, making it seem like the car is new. Possible causes include a recent battery change or electrical work, leading to issues with the key fob needing resynchronization or the immobilizer malfunctioning. The suggested solution is to take the car to a workshop familiar with the model for a diagnostic check, which can quickly resolve the issue by adjusting vehicle settings.

Resynchronizing? How do you do that? It really seems like a weird car configuration.

Well, I'm not entirely sure how you would do that yourself. It's something to do with the vehicle settings. I just took mine to a workshop that was familiar with the model. To be honest, it sounds exactly like the issue I faced, and it was sorted out pretty quickly with a diagnostic tool.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I will take it to a local workshop and mention the potential immobilizer issue and the resynchronizing. Sounds like something is off with my car configuration. Issue solved! It was just a vehicle setting.

Interesting. I had something similar happen in my Barchetta – though a slightly newer model. Did this start after you perhaps changed the battery or had any work done on the electrical system? The key fob might need resynchronizing, or the immobilizer could be playing up.
