Barchetta Turn Signal Error

Hey, I'm pulling my hair out here! I have a 2005 Fiat Barchetta with a gasoline engine, and my turn signal is acting bonkers. I keep getting an error in the speedometer, and the lights are definitely not flashing right. I think there's an error stored in the error memory too, if that makes any sense. I checked the bulb, and it looks okay. Any ideas before I lose it completely?

Summary of the thread

A 2005 Fiat Barchetta owner experienced issues with the turn signal, including error messages on the speedometer and malfunctioning lights. Despite checking the bulb, the problem persisted, suggesting a deeper issue. Possible causes included corroded or loose connections, or a short in the wiring. The recommended solution was to inspect the turn signal assembly and connections, but ultimately, a visit to a workshop revealed a defective cable, which was repaired to resolve the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hmm, that's a tricky one! It sounds like more than just a simple bulb issue if you're getting error messages. Did you check the connection to the bulb holder? Sometimes those can get corroded or loose, like a bad Wi-Fi signal. Also, have you tried wiggling the wires connected to the turn signal assembly? Maybe there's a short somewhere.

Thanks for the tips! Where exactly do I find the 'turn signal assembly' wires? I'm not super familiar with car parts, to be honest. Is it something I can easily get to, or am I going to need to take half the car apart?

Okay, so think of it like this: the turn signal assembly is basically where the bulb plugs in. The wires leading to it will usually be tucked away behind the light fixture itself. You might need to remove a plastic cover or something to get to them. But if you're not comfortable poking around, and you're getting error codes and weirdness, it honestly might be a cable or plug connection issue. With the age of your car I would recommend a workshop visit.

Alright, I appreciate the help! I took it to the shop as you recommended. Turns out a cable was indeed defective. 95€ later, it's all sorted. Thanks again!
