Barchetta Windshield Wipers Not Working
Summary of the thread
The windshield wipers on a 2000 Fiat Barchetta have stopped working entirely, with an error related to the wiper system detected by an OBD scanner. The issue might be due to a defective cable or plug connection in the circuit. Suggested solutions include checking all connections, especially ground connections, for corrosion or damage, and inspecting the wiper motor itself. If these checks don't resolve the problem, visiting a workshop might be necessary.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly was that corroded connector located in your Astra? Was it easy to access? And yes, I did check the wiper motor fuse, and it seems to be okay. But I didn't check the motor itself directly.

Unfortunately, I do not recall the exact location. As I recall, the connector was difficult to reach. If the fuse is ok and you checked the obvious connections, I would consider visiting a workshop. It would cost approximately 95€.

Thanks for the info! I was hoping to avoid the workshop, but it sounds like that might be the best course of action. I will let you know if I get it solved.

I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra a while back. The wipers would fail intermittently. In my case, it turned out to be a corroded connector in the wiring harness near the wiper motor. Check all the connections, especially the ground connections, and look for any signs of corrosion or damage. Also, have you checked the wiper motor itself?
