Berlingo high pressure pump failure

My 2012 Citroen Berlingo diesel is having trouble. It's got about 159000 km on the clock. The check engine light keeps popping up, and the engine sometimes stalls when I'm idling. Plus, it feels like I've lost a lot of power. A local garage said it might be a defective fuel volume regulator, possibly caused by a failing high pressure pump. Has anyone else had this?

Sounds familiar. I've got a Berlingo as well, though I can't remember what year it is exactly. I had similar symptoms a while back – check engine light, stalling, and definitely noticed a drop in power. Is it misfiring at all?

Yeah, it does misfire sometimes, especially when it's cold. What was the fix for your Berlingo? Was it the high pressure pump?

Yep, turned out to be the high pressure pump on mine too. If they're saying it's likely that, I'd trust them. Get it sorted at a proper workshop though. I ended up paying around 1500€ for the whole job, including parts and labour. It wasn't cheap.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like I'm heading for the same expensive repair. I'll take it to a workshop and get them to check the high pressure pump. At least I know what to expect now.
