You think a discharged 12V could cause that kind of HV system error? Seems odd, but where was your problem?

Well, yes, it can definitely cause all sorts of weirdness with the electronics. The car relies on that 12V for a lot more than just starting. It could cause a HV error. But to be sure take it to a qualified workshop.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out you were right, bad cell in the high-voltage battery! Cost me 290€ to replace.

High-voltage issues, huh? Sounds familiar. Had a similar problem with my old Volvo V60 hybrid. System malfunction warnings, limp mode... the works. Battery drain was the culprit in my case. Did you check the 12V battery? Is it heavily discharged?
