Berlingo preheating lamp and check engine light
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Citroen Berlingo diesel owner reported issues with the preheating lamp not switching off, the check engine light being on, and smoke during acceleration. The problem was suspected to be a defective glow control unit or a faulty cable or plug connection. After further inspection and advice, it was found that a corroded connector at the glow control unit was the cause. Replacing the connector resolved the issue.

Good point. I visually inspected them, but didn't see anything obvious. Is there a specific area I should focus on, or a way to test the connections properly?

With my Peugeot, the issue was a slightly corroded connector right at the glow control unit. Hard to spot at first glance. If you're not comfortable testing it yourself, maybe a quick check at the workshop is worth it. I ended up paying around 95€ for the repair; that was a relief.

Thanks for the insight! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – corroded connector at the glow control unit. Replaced it, and everything's running smoothly now. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my old Peugeot. Preheating lamp staying on, engine light popping up... Could be a faulty connection. Did you check the connectors for corrosion or damage?
