Bipper Electrical Issue

I'm having a weird electrical issue with my 2009 Peugeot Bipper gasoline. The battery keeps draining, and I'm getting an error message on the speedometer. The lights are also weak and flickering, and the engine struggles to start. I checked the error memory, and there's a stored error. I suspect it might be a defective battery sensor. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Corsa. The symptoms were almost identical – battery draining overnight, weird electrical glitches. Have you checked the voltage regulator or the alternator output? A faulty alternator can cause a parasitic draw, killing the battery. It's like having a tiny vampire sucking the life out of your electrical system!

Thanks for the tip! I haven't checked the alternator output yet, but I will. Where exactly is the voltage regulator located? Is it difficult to test it myself, or should I just take it to a workshop?

On my Corsa, the voltage regulator was integrated into the alternator. I tried testing it myself, but it was a pain. Unless you're comfortable with electrical diagnostics, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They have the right tools and know-how. Better safe than sorry, especially with electrical issues!

Took your advice and brought it to a workshop. Turns out it was indeed the battery sensor, as suspected. The repair cost me 315€. Thanks a lot for your help; it pointed me in the right direction!
