Bipper hissing sound and fuel economy issue

I've got a 2015 Peugeot Bipper with a gasoline engine, and it's started acting up. I'm getting terrible fuel economy, the check engine light is on, and there's this awful hissing sound when I accelerate. I'm pretty sure it's an air intake leak, but I'm no mechanic. I've checked the air filter and all the hoses I can see, but I can't pinpoint the exact location of the leak. Any ideas? It's driving me nuts!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Bipper. Check the intake hose, especially where it connects to the intake manifold. They're prone to cracking.

Thanks for the tip! Was the hissing constant, or only under acceleration? And was it hard to spot the crack? I've been poking around under the hood, but everything looks okay at first glance.

Hissing was worse when accelerating. Honestly, I couldn't find the crack myself. Just took it to a workshop, and they sorted it quick.

Yeah, I think you're right. I'm admitting defeat and taking it to a shop. I was hoping to avoid the cost, but that hissing is getting on my nerves, and the fuel consumption is killing me. Thanks for the advice! It was indeed the intake hose, right where it connects to the manifold. Cost me 100€ to get it sorted. Now she's running like a dream!
