Black smoke and acceleration problems on Mini Paceman Diesel
(Translated from French)
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Mini Paceman Diesel is experiencing black smoke emissions and acceleration issues, particularly at low revs, accompanied by a 'machine gun' sound and occasional abrupt acceleration. The orange engine light sometimes illuminates. Despite checking the injectors and replacing the solenoid valve, the problem persists. Potential causes could include a clogged air filter, which should be checked and replaced if dirty, as it can lead to black smoke and poor performance.

Hello, it wasn't a filter problem, we still haven't found the issue. The situation remains the same. As a reminder: Black smoke under acceleration, Jerking, loss of power, Abnormal noise, randomly illuminated engine light, intermittent failures, difficult to reproduce in the workshop. Injection rail pressure sensor and EGR valve changed, high-pressure sensor connector changed, EGR valve changed. The pre-purchase technical inspection indicated an error code P0087. Random failure already present on the invoices, fuel pressure sensor changed twice. Can you help us?

Inspect the turbocharger for any signs of wear or damage, as issues with the turbo can cause black smoke and power loss. Check for any leaks in the intercooler or boost pipes, as these can also lead to similar symptoms. If you're unsure, it might be best to have a professional mechanic take a closer look. Let me know if this helps or if you have any further questions!

Check the air filter for any blockages or dirt, as a clogged air filter can cause black smoke and poor engine performance. If it's dirty, replace it and see if the issue improves. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!
