Blazer Airbag Warning Light
Summary of the thread
The 2019 Chevrolet Blazer's airbag warning light issue was initially perplexing, with the light appearing randomly. The problem was suspected to be a faulty sensor or loose connection. A similar case revealed that the issue could stem from a dodgy connection in the wiring harness under the driver's seat, often affected by seat adjustments or passenger activity. The solution involved cleaning and reseating a corroded connector, which resolved the warning light problem effectively.

Interesting. I do adjust my seat fairly often. The kids are always kicking around in the back too. Where exactly under the seat was the connection? Was it easy to get to, or did you have to dismantle half the car to find it?

It's under the driver's seat, towards the front. You don't need to dismantle anything major, but you'll need to get your head under there with a flashlight. Honestly, I'd recommend having a workshop take a look. If it is a defective cable or plug connection of the component, it's a fairly cheap fix – about 95€. Playing around with airbags can be risky if you don't know what you're doing.

I appreciate the heads up. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on - corroded connector under the seat. They cleaned it up and re-seated everything. Airbag light's gone, and the whole system seems to be working fine now. You saved me a ton of diagnostic time!

I had a similar airbag issue with my Blazer. It ended up being a dodgy connection in the wiring harness under the driver's seat. Those connectors are about as robust as a house of cards in a hurricane. Does the light tend to come on after you've adjusted your seat or had a passenger in the back?
