Blazer temperature gauge and check engine light

Having some weird issues with my 2020 Chevrolet Blazer with a gasoline engine. It's got about 153,000 km on it. Lately, the temperature gauge seems off, and the check engine light popped on. I've also noticed the engine is taking forever to warm up. I read somewhere that it might be related to the cooling grille being restricted. I checked the obvious stuff, like leaves and debris blocking the radiator, but everything looks clear. Wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar, maybe a fuse issue related to the grille shutters?

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Chevrolet Blazer owner experienced issues with the temperature gauge and check engine light, alongside a slow engine warm-up. The problem was suspected to be related to a restricted cooling grille, possibly due to a fuse issue affecting the grille shutters. After checking for debris and consulting with others, the owner discovered a faulty fuse was indeed the cause. Replacing the fuse resolved the issue, confirming the initial suspicion.

I had a similar problem with my Blazer. The symptoms you describe sound very familiar. Did you check the fuse box? Sometimes a blown fuse can cause those shutters to malfunction and trigger the check engine light. It's worth a shot before taking it to a mechanic.

Thanks for the tip! Which fuse box are you referring to, and do you happen to know which fuse specifically controls the grille shutters? I don't want to start pulling fuses randomly and potentially cause more problems.

Yeah, the one under the hood. Honestly, I can't recall the exact fuse number. I'd recommend checking your owner's manual; it should have a diagram. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, a quick visit to a workshop is probably the best move. They'll diagnose it properly.

I took your advice and had it checked out. Turns out it was indeed a faulty fuse related to the cooling grille! The workshop replaced it, and everything seems to be working fine now. The final bill was only 52€, so it was a pretty easy fix. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
