Blower motor failure

Hey, I've got a problem with my 2015 Ford F with a gasoline engine. The fresh air blower isn't working. I noticed the blower motor doesn't kick on at all, and I pulled an error code related to it. I'm guessing the blower motor is shot?

Greetings. Given the symptoms you describe, specifically the non-operational blower motor coupled with a stored error code, a defective blower motor certainly appears to be the most probable cause. To verify this, have you checked the blower motor resistor and the fuse for the blower motor circuit? These components are relatively inexpensive and simpler to replace than the blower motor itself. Furthermore, were there any recent repairs or modifications to the HVAC system prior to the onset of this issue?

Thanks for the reply! I haven't checked the resistor or fuse yet, honestly didn't think of that. Where exactly would I find the blower motor resistor on this model?

The blower motor resistor on your 2015 Ford F is typically located in the HVAC box, often accessible from the passenger side footwell. However, given your apparent lack of familiarity with automotive electrical systems, proceeding with component testing yourself may carry some risk. Considering the potential for further complications or misdiagnosis, and factoring in the eventual repair cost you will incur, I recommend consulting a qualified automotive technician for a comprehensive inspection and repair. This will ensure the issue is resolved correctly and efficiently.

Appreciate the advice. I took it to a local shop, and you were right. Turns out the blower motor was indeed defective. Cost me 365€ to get it replaced, but at least I have air again!
