BMAX Keyless Entry Antenna Fault

My 2012 Ford BMAX with a gasoline engine is throwing some strange errors. The system memory shows an antenna fault. Now the keyless entry is acting up, and sometimes I can't start the engine without the key, even though it's supposed to be keyless. I suspect the bumper antenna. Any ideas?

I had similar issues with my BMAX. Error messages, keyless entry problems, and difficulty starting. The antenna connection could indeed be the culprit. Have you checked the connections for corrosion or damage?

Thanks. Where exactly is the antenna connection located? Is it easy to access and inspect?

Yes, it's a known issue. The connections are susceptible to corrosion. While you can inspect it yourself, given the car's computer involvement, it might be best to have a workshop take a look to rule out any deeper issues.

Thanks for confirming, that's really helpful. I took it to a local workshop and they found a defective cable connection for the bumper antenna as suspected. Cost me 95€, all in.
