BMAX Low Coolant
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Ford BMAX with a gasoline engine is experiencing a blinking check engine light and low coolant levels, despite low mileage. The owner suspects a possible head gasket issue but observes no visible leaks around the radiator hoses or coolant reservoir. A suggestion to check for staining or residue around the engine block leads to the discovery of a tiny leak near the water pump, which is resolved with a new seal and coolant flush.

The cooling fan does seem to be on quite a bit. I haven't noticed any staining, but I'll take a closer look. You mentioned a slow leak. Did you find it yourself, or did you need to take it to a shop?

I'm no expert, but it's best to get it checked by a professional. If the coolant level stays low, it could damage the engine. A pressure test at a workshop will quickly find any leak. Just my opinion.

You're right, it's not worth the risk. I took it to the workshop, and they found a tiny leak near the water pump. A new seal and coolant flush cost 52€ total. Thanks for the advice!

Low coolant on a BMAX, huh? Sounds familiar. Does the cooling fan seem to be running more than usual? I had a similar issue and it was a slow coolant leak. Have you checked for staining or residue around the engine block?
