Correct. The fault code pointed to a defective electromechanism. Considering the overheating and the specific fault code, it's likely the same issue. I'd advise taking it to a workshop for a thorough inspection and repair. It cost me 590€ to fix.

Thanks for the info. I'll take it to the workshop. The repair cost also seems fair. I will post a resolution here when it's fixed.

Hello. I had a similar issue with my Opel Astra, although it was a diesel. The check engine light, coupled with overheating, sounds like a thermal management problem. Does the diagnostic scan provide a specific fault code related to the air flap electromechanism?
