Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful since your symptoms match mine exactly. Just wondering, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole pedal module replacement? Also, has everything been running smoothly since the fix, or have you noticed any other issues popping up? Been a bit worried about potential related problems down the line.

Hey there! Glad I could help with my experience. Yes, I can tell you exactly what I paid, it was 205€ for the complete fix of the defective accelerator pedal module. And you'll be happy to hear that since getting it sorted, my car's been running like a dream! No more jerking, no weird throttle responses, nothing. I actually had my initial suspicions about the throttle valve being the culprit, but thankfully the mechanic caught the real issue with the pedal module. Honestly, it's been about three months now since the repair, and I haven't had a single problem pop up. Fuel consumption is back to normal, and the engine response is just like when the car was new. I was also worried about potential knock-on issues, but nope, everything's working perfectly. Trust me, once you get this fixed, you'll feel the difference immediately. The car just feels right again, you know what I mean?

Thanks for all that detail! I actually went ahead and got it checked out yesterday after reading your response. You were spot on, it was the pedal module! My repair came in a bit higher at 275€, but totally worth it. The mechanic I found was great, explained everything clearly, and even showed me the worn-out module. The whole repair took about 2 hours, and what a difference! Drove it home yesterday and this morning, and it's like having a completely different car. No more jerking, starts up perfectly, and the throttle response is instant now. Such a relief it wasn't something more serious. Really glad I didn't waste time looking at the throttle valve. Really appreciate your help in figuring this out. Would have probably spent way more time and money going down the wrong path without your input. Guess sometimes it pays to ask around before jumping to conclusions!

Had similar issues with my 2020 BMW 2 Series diesel last month. The symptoms matched yours exactly, delayed throttle response, jerking, and high fuel consumption. Turned out to be a defective accelerator pedal module, not the throttle valve. The sensor in the module was failing, causing incorrect signals to the engine management system. It was actually a serious issue since it affects both performance and safety. Got it diagnosed at the garage with their diagnostic computer. The repair involved replacing the entire pedal module assembly. The mechanic said these modules tend to fail due to wear and environmental factors, especially in diesels with high mileage. While waiting at the garage, another customer had the same issue with an older 3 Series. Seems somewhat common with these models. After the replacement, the car runs perfectly, no more jerking, normal fuel consumption, and throttle response is back to normal. Hope this helps with your decision-making. These symptoms shouldn't be ignored.
