Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful to know about the battery being the culprit. I've been dreading a complicated window regulator repair, but your situation sounds pretty similar to mine. Quick question, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole fix? Also, has everything stayed working fine since then, or have you noticed any other electrical quirks pop up? Would love to know what to expect if I go down the same route.

Hey again! Great to hear back from you! Yes, absolutely everything has stayed perfect since I got it fixed. Just had it done last month and it cost me 290 € for the battery replacement, including the reprogramming work. Money well spent, if you ask me! The window regulator initialization issue cleared up right away after they put in the new battery, it was like magic, honestly. You know what's funny? I was also worried it would be some complex window mechanism thing, but the battery really was the root cause. These hybrid systems are pretty clever but they can be super finicky about battery health. Haven't seen a single electrical gremlin since the fix, all windows working smoothly, no more error messages, and the whole car just feels more responsive. Trust me, if your symptoms are similar to what I had, getting the battery checked should be your first move. These modern BMWs are amazing machines but they definitely need proper diagnosis with the right equipment. Let me know how it goes if you decide to get it checked out!

Thanks for sharing those details! After reading your reply, I went ahead and took my car to a certified BMW service center yesterday. you were spot on, it was the battery! The diagnostic showed it was running at about 35% capacity. Got it replaced and reprogrammed for around 310 €, which wasn't as bad as I feared. All the windows are working perfectly now, and those annoying error codes have disappeared. Really glad I asked here before spending money on replacing the window regulators. The mechanic mentioned these hybrids are pretty particular about their electrical systems, and a weak battery can cause all sorts of weird issues. What a relief to have this sorted without any major repairs! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. Guess I've found my new go-to service center too, they were super professional and explained everything clearly. Definitely learned my lesson about getting things checked properly first!

Hey there! Had the same issue with my '19 BMW 5 Series Hybrid last winter at 120k km. Initially thought it was just the window regulator, but it turned out the battery was failing. The low voltage was causing all sorts of electrical gremlins, including the windows not working and unusual error codes popping up. Took it to the dealership, and they confirmed the battery was at about 30% capacity. These hybrid systems are pretty sensitive to battery health. The replacement was straightforward, but they had to reprogram several modules afterward. Not a DIY job because of the programming requirements. Since the fix, everything's been working perfectly, windows, error codes gone, and the start-stop system is much smoother now. If you're seeing similar symptoms, definitely get the battery checked before jumping to window regulator conclusions. These newer BMWs need specialized diagnostic equipment to properly assess and fix electrical issues. Best of luck with yours.
