BMW 3 Steering Wheel Vibration at High Speeds

I'm experiencing a problem with my BMW 3 where the steering wheel starts to vibrate or shake when I reach speeds over 130 km/h. The car doesn't feel stable at these speeds. Has anyone else encountered this issue and if so, what could be causing it and how can it be fixed?

Summary of the thread

A BMW 3 owner reported steering wheel vibrations at speeds over 130 km/h, indicating instability. The primary suggested cause was unbalanced wheels, which was confirmed as the issue. Additional potential causes included warped brake discs or incorrect tire pressure. Balancing the wheels resolved the problem.

Start by checking if your wheels are properly balanced, as unbalanced wheels are a common cause of vibrations at higher speeds. If the problem persists after balancing, let me know for further guidance.

It could also be a warped brake disc. It a brake caliper that is sticking on.

Check your tire pressure as well, as incorrect pressure can contribute to vibrations. Ensure all tires are inflated to the recommended levels. If the issue continues, please update us for further assistance.
