Thanks for sharing your experience! My car's at 86588 KM and had its last service about 3 months ago. The error codes I'm getting are P20EE and P203F, which seem to be AdBlue-related. I actually haven't checked the AdBlue level since the last service, totally slipped my mind. Your experience with the dosing unit connection issue sounds pretty similar to what I'm dealing with. Really helps to know the potential cost too. Might give my regular mechanic a call tomorrow and mention these symptoms. Did your car take long to fix when you had this issue?

Hey again! Thanks for sharing those error codes, yeah, those are definitely the same ones I got with my BMW. When I had my car fixed, it actually took about a day and a half, but that's mainly because they had to order the part. The actual repair work only took around 3-4 hours once they had everything they needed. Since you mentioned your last service was 3 months ago, it's definitely worth checking the AdBlue level first, even though they probably topped it up during service. In my case, there was actually plenty of AdBlue in the tank, but it wasn't getting to where it needed to go because of that faulty connection I mentioned. Just a heads up, when I got those same error codes, I tried to clear them and restart the car a few times, but it didn't help. Learned the hard way that these BMW diesels won't start again until the AdBlue system is properly fixed. The good news is that once it's fixed, it usually stays fixed for a good while. Haven't had any issues with mine since the repair, and that was about a year ago. Let me know how it goes with your mechanic. Curious to hear if it turns out to be the same issue as mine!

Thanks so much for all the detailed info! Really helpful to know about the repair timeline, I'll make sure to ask about parts availability when I call the mechanic tomorrow. You're absolutely right about not being able to clear those codes, I tried that too without any luck. I've just checked my maintenance records and noticed the AdBlue was actually topped up during the service, so I'm starting to think it might be that connection issue you mentioned. Definitely puts my mind at ease knowing yours has been running fine for a year after the fix. I'll make sure to update the thread once I get it sorted, might help someone else with the same problem down the line. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience. Really made me feel better about getting this sorted!

Hey there! I had something similar with my 2006 BMW 5 series diesel. I've got some experience working on cars, mainly basic maintenance stuff. My issue turned out to be a faulty connection between the AdBlue tank and the dosing unit. Like yours, my car wouldn't start and had error codes popping up. Took it to my regular workshop, and they diagnosed the problem pretty quickly. The total repair came to about 250 Euro, they had to replace the line from the tank to the dosing unit. Before you head to the shop though, what specific error codes are you getting? Also, when was the last time you checked your AdBlue level? Might help narrow things down if you could share that info. By the way, speaking from experience with both the 5 and 7 series, these AdBlue systems can be a bit tricky sometimes, but they're usually fixable without too much hassle.
