BMW i5 ASC/ABS Failure Causing Acceleration Problems

Hi all! Having trouble with my 2024 BMW i5 (146,557 km) and need some advice. My ASC and ABS systems aren't working, and the car jerks during acceleration. Got an error code stored in the system and an ASC service warning. Last mechanic visit wasn't great, so I'm hesitant to go back. Has anyone experienced similar issues with their i5? What was the diagnosis and repair cost? Looking for recommendations on what to expect. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I faced a similar issue with my 2021 BMW iX3 last month. The ASC relay was indeed defective, causing those exact symptoms, jerky acceleration and both ASC/ABS warnings lighting up. Had to get the ASC control unit replaced as the relay was integrated into it. It was serious enough that I couldn't ignore it, these systems are crucial for vehicle stability and safety. The repair took about 4 hours at the shop. My advice? Get it checked at a certified BMW service center. This isn't something you want to leave unattended, as it affects your vehicle's core safety systems. The symptoms you're describing are textbook ASC relay failure. Hope this helps with what to expect. Good luck with the repair.

Thanks for sharing your experience, This sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with, really helpful to know about the ASC relay being the culprit. Do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, has everything been running smoothly since the fix, or have you noticed any other quirks? Thanks again!

Hey again! Great news, I can confirm everything's been running perfectly since I had it fixed! The jerky acceleration and those annoying warning lights are completely gone now. The repair was actually quite straightforward and cost me 90 € to replace the defective ASC relay. Much cheaper than I initially feared! The car's been driving like a dream for the past few weeks, smooth acceleration, no warning lights, and all safety systems working as they should. It's such a relief when these things turn out to be simpler than expected. You should definitely get yours checked out, seems like we had identical symptoms and it's not worth taking risks with safety systems. Let me know how it goes with your repair!

Thanks! Really glad I asked here. Just wanted to update everyone, I finally got my car checked out at a different BMW service center. You were spot on about the ASC relay! The symptoms matched exactly what you described. The whole repair was actually pretty quick, took them about 3 hours to diagnose and fix it. Cost was reasonable too. The best part? The car's running perfectly now. No more jerking during acceleration, and those annoying warning lights are gone. Seriously appreciate everyone's input here. It gave me the confidence to get it sorted instead of putting it off. The new mechanic was way better than my last one too, really explained everything clearly. Thanks again for all the help!
