Thanks so much for sharing your experience, that's really helpful! I actually went ahead and got it fixed last week following pretty much the same process you described. The techs also found two sensors that needed replacing in my case. By the way, do you remember roughly how much you paid for yours? Also, has everything been working smoothly since the repair? Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything or need to keep an eye out for other issues.

Glad I could help! Yeah, my repair went super smooth, paid €280 for fixing the sensor battery issue. Since getting it sorted at the mechanic's, everything's been working perfectly fine, no more annoying warning lights or error messages popping up on the dash. My iX3's tire pressure monitoring system has been rock solid since the fix. Trust me, it's such a relief not having to deal with those constant alerts anymore! Haven't had a single problem with the sensors in the past month. Just keep an eye on your tire pressures as usual, but you shouldn't have any more problems with those faulty sensor readings. The new batteries should last you another good 5-7 years at least. Let me know if anything else comes up!

Thanks for the follow-up! That's really reassuring to hear about your experience. I actually paid about the same for my repair, around €275. You're absolutely right about the relief of not seeing those warnings anymore! The mechanic I ended up going with was fantastic. They explained everything clearly and even showed me the old sensors. It's been two weeks since the fix, and just like your experience, everything's working perfectly. No more unusual warnings lighting up my dash! The whole process was way smoother than I expected. They had me in and out in about two hours, just like you mentioned. Honestly wish I'd done it sooner instead of worrying about it for so long. Really appreciate your help with this. It definitely made me feel more confident about getting it sorted.

Hey there! I had the exact same issue with my 2020 BMW iX3 last month. The TPMS warning wouldn't stop flashing, and the error message was persistent. Took it to the service center where they diagnosed a faulty sensor battery in one of the wheels. These sensors typically have a battery life of 5-7 years, and when they start failing, they can trigger constant warnings. It wasn't a serious mechanical issue, just needed a sensor replacement. In my case, they had to replace two sensors as the second one was also showing signs of weakness. The fix was straightforward: they removed the tires, replaced the old sensors with new ones, and reprogrammed them to sync with the car's system. Whole thing took about two hours. Just make sure you go to someone who's certified to work with BMW's electronic systems, these sensors are model-specific and need proper calibration. Your iX1's mileage suggests the original sensors might be reaching their end of life. Better to get them checked soon to avoid any false readings.
