Thanks for sharing that experience! I had mine fixed at a certified shop too and they also found corrosion in the antenna module. Just curious, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, has everything been working smoothly since they fixed it? I'm hoping to avoid any repeat issues with mine.

Hey there! Yeah, the repair on my iX3 cost me 200 € for the antenna replacement and programming. Everything's been perfect since the fix, nav system is working like a charm now! No more lost signals or slow calculations. The GPS picks up instantly when I start the car, and route planning is super quick again. I'm really glad I went with the certified shop. They knew exactly what they were doing with the programming part, which I've heard can be tricky with these BMWs. It's been about 6 months since the repair, and I haven't had a single problem with the system. Money well spent, if you ask me! The corrosion issue seems pretty common with these models, but once it's properly fixed with genuine parts, it shouldn't give you any more trouble. Just keep an eye on it during your regular services, though I doubt you'll have any more issues. These new antennas are much better protected against moisture.

Thanks for the info! Just got mine fixed today actually. My repair came in a bit higher at 275 €, guess prices vary between shops. But honestly, worth every penny. The mechanic was really thorough and showed me the old antenna, it was in worse shape than I expected. They did the whole job in about 4 hours, which included testing everything to make sure it was working properly. Just drove home using the nav system and it's like having a new car! The signal picks up instantly, and the route calculations are lightning fast now. Funny thing is, the mechanic mentioned seeing quite a few iX3s with the same issue lately. At least I know I'm not alone with this problem. Really appreciate everyone's help on this, saved me from stressing about finding a reliable shop!

Had the same GPS issues on my 2019 BMW iX. The symptoms were identical, slow calculations, lost signal, and error codes. Took it to the dealership garage and they diagnosed a faulty GPS antenna module. The antenna was corroded inside and needed a complete replacement. The repair wasn't too complex, but they had to remove some interior trim panels to access the antenna housing. The new module needed programming to sync with the car's systems. The whole job took about 3 hours. This is actually a known issue with some BMW models from that generation. It's not a major mechanical problem, but it needs proper fixing as the corrosion can spread if left untreated. Make sure whoever does the work uses genuine BMW parts, aftermarket antennas can cause compatibility issues with the nav system. My suggestion? Head to a certified BMW service center. They'll have the right diagnostic tools and programming equipment for this specific issue.
