BMW Washer Systems Triple Failure, Help Needed

Thanks for sharing your experience! Just got my car back from repair last week with almost the same issue. The pump issue was a pain to fix because of the confined space in the engine bay. Would you mind sharing how much you ended up paying for the repair? Also curious if you've had any other problems pop up since then? My mechanic mentioned something about checking the rain sensor separately, but I decided to hold off on that for now.

Hey again! Good to hear you got yours fixed too. For sure, I can tell you about the costs, I paid 165 € to get that headlight cleaning system sorted out. Turned out to be exactly what I thought, just a dodgy cable connection to the pump and a relay that needed fixing. Nothing too major in the end, but you're right about that engine bay being super cramped! Since getting it fixed, everything's been working like a charm, no more issues with the headlight washers at all. Honestly, it was worth every penny just for the peace of mind. These BMWs can be a bit finicky with their electrical bits, but once you get them sorted, they're usually good to go. Smart move holding off on the rain sensor check for now. If it's not giving you major grief, I'd probably do the same. Mine's been behaving perfectly since the repair, and I haven't had any other weird problems pop up. Just keep an eye on it, and if anything starts acting up again, at least now you know what to look out for!

Thanks for the cost breakdown! Yeah, I ended up paying a bit more, around 220 € for the whole job. The mechanic had to take apart quite a bit just to reach the pump. What a hassle! But you're totally right about the peace of mind. It's been working perfectly since the fix. Funny enough, while I was at the shop, I met another BMW owner who had the exact same problem. We had a good laugh about these fancy cars and their complicated systems. The mechanic I found was actually great, super transparent about the whole process and even showed me exactly what was wrong. Way better than my last experience! The auto wipers are still a bit wonky sometimes, but nothing major enough to worry about right now. After the pump fix, I'm just happy to have clean headlights and a clear windshield again. Think I'll stick with this mechanic for future issues, seems like he really knows his BMWs!

Hey there. I actually faced similar symptoms with my 2019 BMW 5 Series Hybrid last summer. Turned out the washer pump was failing, plus there was a bad connection in the relay wiring. The pump would out of nowhere stop working, affecting both the windshield and headlight washers. After inspection, my mechanic found corrosion on the wiring connectors leading to the pump. The complete fix involved replacing the pump assembly and rewiring the damaged connections. It wasn't a major mechanical issue, but it needed proper attention since it's a safety feature. For your case, I'd suggest checking the washer fluid level first, then listen for the pump sound when you try to use the washers. If you hear no sound, it's likely a pump or electrical issue. The auto wipers could be a separate problem with the rain sensor. Good luck with the fix.
