My car has 67552 KM on the clock, and thanks for sharing your experience! In my case, it's affecting all windows, and I don't hear any clicking at all when pressing the switches. The auto up/down feature isn't working either. It's good to know it might just be the master switch, that's definitely less scary than a full regulator replacement. I was worried since it happened right after my latest service. Probably should get it checked out sooner rather than later before winter hits. I'll have my mechanic take a look at the switch first before diving into anything more complex.

Hey again! Following up on our earlier chat about your BMW X1's window issues. You know, after I shared about my X3's switch problem, I remembered something important. When mine had similar symptoms, all windows dead, no clicking, complete silence, I initially thought it was just the master switch like in my case. But here's the thing: I also had a case where none of my windows were working about 6 months before the switch incident, and it turned out to be a blown fuse! Since you mentioned it happened right after service, I'd suggest checking the fuse box first, it's a super quick and cheap fix if that's the issue. In my case, I found out that during a routine service, they had accidentally knocked a fuse loose while doing some other work. Just pop open your fuse box and look for the power window fuse, should be clearly labeled in your manual. If it's not the fuse, then yeah, the master switch is still a good bet, especially with those symptoms you described. My repair was straightforward and relatively inexpensive. Just make sure your mechanic checks both the fuse and switch before jumping to any conclusions about the regulator. These BMWs can be tricky sometimes, but usually, the fix is simpler than we fear! Let me know what you find out, I'm curious to know if your issue matches either of my experiences!

Thanks so much for the detailed follow-up! You know what, you might be onto something with the fuse suggestion. I actually hadn't even thought about checking that, especially since it happened right after the service. That would make total sense! I just grabbed my manual and found the fuse diagram, going to check that out right after this. It would be such a relief if it turns out to be something that simple. I really appreciate you sharing both of your experiences. It's super helpful to know that even when it's not the fuse, it could still be something relatively straightforward like the master switch. I was getting pretty worried about potential repair costs, but this gives me hope it won't break the bank. I'll definitely have the mechanic check both the fuse and switch before looking at anything more complex. I'll keep you posted on what I find. Fingers crossed it's just a loose fuse! Thanks again for taking the time to help me troubleshoot this, it's really put my mind at ease.

Hi there! I have some experience with cars and had a similar issue with my 2019 BMW X3 last year. The power windows stopped working completely, and I was worried it would be something major. Turned out it was just a faulty master power window switch. Took it to my workshop, and they diagnosed it pretty quickly. The repair, including parts and labor, cost me around 200 Euro, not too bad considering I was expecting worse! My actually owns a BMW X5, and he mentioned these switches can be a common issue in BMWs. The symptoms sound very similar to what you're describing, but to help you better, could you share: Does it affect all windows or just one? Do you hear any clicking sound when pressing the switches? Does the auto up/down function work at all?
