Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! It's really helpful to hear from someone who went through the same thing. After getting it fixed, was it worth the cost? Just curious how much you ended up paying for the whole injector job, if you don't mind sharing. Also, has everything stayed running smooth since the repair, or have you noticed any other issues pop up? I've heard these fuel system problems can sometimes be tricky, so I'd love to know how your X3's been holding up.

Hey again! Absolutely worth every penny! After shelling out 515 € to fix the faulty injection nozzle and clean up the dirty valve, my X3's been running like a dream. It's been about 8 months since the repair, and I haven't had a single problem, seriously, it's like driving a different car! The idle is buttery smooth now, starts up instantly every time, and my fuel consumption is back to normal. Actually, I might even be saving money in the long run because I'm not wasting fuel anymore with those inefficient injectors. I was a bit nervous about the cost at first, but considering how much better the car runs and the potential damage I could've faced by putting it off, I'd say it was money well spent. These BMWs can be pricey to fix, but when you get it done right the first time, it really pays off. Trust me, once you get yours sorted, you'll notice the difference right away. Just make sure you find a good BMW specialist who knows what they're doing. No more messing around with shops that don't know these engines inside and out!

Just wanted to update everyone, took your advice and got it sorted! Found a good BMW specialist and they confirmed it was exactly what you said, clogged injectors. Had them cleaned and replaced one that was completely shot. Total bill came to around 600 bucks, which wasn't as bad as I feared. Been driving for a few weeks now and what a difference! No more rough idle, starts perfectly every time, and the engine's got its punch back. Fuel economy's way better too. Really glad I didn't put it off any longer. The mechanic showed me how gunked up the injectors were, pretty scary stuff. They also did a thorough check of the whole fuel system while they were at it, so I've got peace of mind now. Thanks again for pushing me in the right direction. Should've done this months ago instead of messing around with that other shop. Lesson learned, sometimes paying a bit more for someone who knows what they're doing saves money in the long run!

Hey there! I had nearly identical issues with my 2013 BMW X3 last year. The symptoms matched yours exactly, rough idle, hard starts, and terrible fuel economy. After diagnosing, it turned out my fuel injectors were seriously clogged. The mechanic had to remove and clean all injectors, plus replace two that were beyond saving. It was quite a serious job since dirty injectors can damage other engine components if left unchecked. The cleaning process took several hours because they needed to use specialized equipment to test each injector's spray pattern. Post-repair, my car runs like new again, smooth idle, instant starts, and back to normal fuel consumption. Given your symptoms, I'd strongly recommend getting those injectors checked soon. The longer you wait, the more damage could occur to your engine. My advice: Find a shop that specializes in BMW fuel systems. They'll have the right diagnostic tools and know exactly what to look for. Best of luck!
