BMW X4 Multiple System Failures Point to Clutch Switch

Hey there! Need some advice about my 2014 BMW X4 (gas, 77k km). My car's been acting weird lately, having trouble starting, cruise control's dead, and the gear display isn't showing up in the dash. I can even start it without pushing the clutch, which seems dangerous. I'm thinking it might be the clutch pedal switch, but my last mechanic visit wasn't great, so I'm hesitant to go back. Has anyone dealt with similar symptoms? Any tips on reliable mechanics who know their way around these issues? Really appreciate any help!

Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful, especially since it matches my situation so closely. I'm actually relieved to hear it wasn't something more serious for you. Would you mind telling me how much the repair ended up costing you? Also curious if you've had any similar problems pop up since getting it fixed? I definitely agree about finding someone who knows BMWs, gonna start looking for a specialist tomorrow.

Thanks for the detailed follow-up! I just got back from a BMW specialist I found, and you were spot on! My issue was almost identical, corroded connections on the clutch pedal switch. The repair cost was similar too, around 100 bucks, which was such a relief because I was worried it'd be something major. The mechanic was great, showed me exactly what was wrong and fixed it in about an hour. The car's running perfectly now, all the warning lights are gone, cruise control's back, and the gear display is working again. Plus, the car won't start without pressing the clutch, which is a huge relief. Really glad I asked here and got your advice instead of freaking out about it. Sometimes these weird electrical issues seem scarier than they actually are. Thanks again for helping me sort this out!
