Thanks for sharing your experience! Really helpful to hear someone went through the same thing. I've been looking into fixing mine and your story about the cracked hose makes total sense. Can I ask how much the whole repair ended up costing you? Also, has everything stayed running smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other issues pop up? Just want to know what I might be getting into with this repair.

Hey again! Great to give you a follow-up! Since seeing the mechanic last week, everything's working perfectly now. You'll be happy to know it wasn't as expensive as I initially feared, the final bill came to 175 € for fixing that faulty hose connection between the pump and valve. I can't tell you how relieved I am, the car's running like a dream now. No more jerking, no stalling, and that annoying check engine light is finally off. The secondary air pump's working exactly as it should. Actually, I can't believe what a difference a proper hose connection makes! It's been several months since the repair, and I haven't had a single issue pop up. Honestly, it's one of those repairs that's totally worth doing right away, saves you from bigger headaches down the road. If you're experiencing the same symptoms, I'd definitely recommend getting it checked out soon. These BMW air systems really need proper maintenance to keep running smoothly. Let me know if you need any other details about the repair. Happy to help!

Thanks so much for all the details! Just got back from the mechanic yesterday, and wow, what a relief! My situation turned out pretty similar to yours, but I also had a small crack in the valve itself. Total bill came to a bit more, around 300 since they had to replace both the hose and valve. The funny part was watching the mechanic's face when he found the problem. He kept saying "Yep, classic BMW issue right here!" Took them about three hours to fix everything, but the difference is incredible. The engine's running super smooth now, no more of that annoying jerking or stalling. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it helped me know what to expect and gave me the push I needed to get it fixed right away. Feels good knowing I won't have to worry about this anymore. Now I can finally enjoy driving my X6 again without constantly watching that check engine light! Thanks again for the help. It's such a relief to have this sorted out!

Hey there! I had nearly identical issues with my 2013 BMW X5 35i last year. The symptoms you're describing match exactly what I experienced, rough running, stalling, and that annoying check engine light. The secondary air pump was definitely acting strange. Turned out the connection hose between the pump and valve was cracked and partially disconnected. The garage found it during diagnosis, apparently, these hoses deteriorate over time and create vacuum leaks. Mine was literally hanging by a thread. Got it fixed at the dealership service center, and honestly, it was a pretty serious issue since it affects the emissions system and can damage other components if left unchecked. The repair wasn't just replacing the hose, they had to check the entire secondary air system and clean out the valves too since debris had gotten in. Car's been running smooth since the repair, no more stalling or jerking. My advice would be to get it checked soon, these symptoms usually don't improve on their own.
