Hey! Thanks for sharing that experience! I actually had the exact same problem with my XM a few months back. The dealer also found it was a wiring issue, just like yours. Would you mind sharing how much you ended up paying for the fix? Also curious if you've had any other quirks pop up with the massage system since getting it repaired? I'm trying to figure out if I should expect any follow-up issues.

Hey again! Great to hear back from you! Yes, absolutely, I actually just got my X7's massage seat fixed a few days ago. The total bill came to 95€ for fixing the faulty cable connection. Pretty straightforward repair, honestly, and worth every penny because the massage function is working perfectly now. Since the repair, everything's been running smoothly, no more unusual activations or error messages. The massage system's been working exactly as it should, just like when the car was new. I've been using it quite a bit on longer drives (you know how addictive those massage seats can be!), and there haven't been any problems at all. I wouldn't worry too much about follow-up issues. From what the technician told me, once they fix the connection properly, it usually sorts the problem out for good. Just make sure they use genuine BMW parts for the repair, that's what I insisted on, and I think it made a difference. Let me know how yours works out after the repair!

Thanks for the detailed response! I took your advice and got my XM fixed last week. Had to wait a couple days for the part to arrive, but the repair was quick. My bill was a bit higher, around 120€ because they found some wear on another connector that needed replacing too. The massage function's working perfectly now! Took it on a long drive yesterday and everything operated just like new. The mechanic I found was actually great, super knowledgeable about BMWs and explained everything clearly. Such a relief after my previous bad experience. Really glad I didn't put off getting it fixed. The seats are probably my favorite feature in the car, so it's awesome having them working properly again. Thanks again for your help, definitely saved me some stress knowing what to expect!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2020 BMW X7 M50i last month. The massage function was acting up with unusual activation and error messages. Turned out to be a faulty wiring connection in the seat control module. Took it to the dealership, and they diagnosed a damaged connector plug between the seat module and the main control unit. There was some corrosion build-up causing poor contact. Not a major mechanical issue, but definitely needed proper diagnosis tools to pinpoint the problem. They had to replace the connector and recalibrate the seat control module. The whole repair took about 4 hours. For peace of mind, I'd recommend getting it checked at a certified BMW service center since they have the right diagnostic equipment for these newer models. Worth fixing sooner rather than later, as faulty connections can sometimes lead to other electrical issues in the seat systems. Hope this helps!
