Boost pressure control defective? 1 Series BMW Diesel

Hi friends, recently my 2012 1 series BMW diesel was at the mechanic and the bill was frighteningly high. Now my car is showing some problems - black smoke from the exhaust when accelerating, the check engine light is on, there is a lack of engine power and the car jerks when accelerating. There is also a loud hissing noise on acceleration, the fuel consumption is poor, the exhaust smell is strong and there is a whistling noise. I suspect that the problem is related to the deviation in the boost pressure control. Have any of you had similar experiences and could help out how it went at the garage? My BMW has already done 135343 km and I hope it's nothing too serious. Thanks in advance and I look forward to your feedback. Regards

It sounds like your vehicle might be experiencing a fuel delivery issue. Black smoke usually indicates that the engine is burning too much fuel. This could be due to a faulty fuel injector, a clogged air filter, or a malfunctioning sensor. I would recommend starting with checking your air filter and fuel injectors. If the problem persists, it would be best to have a mechanic perform a diagnostic test to identify the exact issue. Please keep us updated on your progress.

Hello I have a 2010 vw multivan. There is a blue smoke coming out of the exhaust with a smell of oil. The turbo has been changed. But the problem is not solved. My mechanic told me that as long as there's oil, it's fine... Do you have an idea? Thank you. Isabelle capoulat

Blue smoke from the exhaust usually indicates oil burning in the combustion chamber. This could be due to worn piston rings, valve seals, or a faulty PCV system. Since the turbo has been replaced and the problem persists, I would suggest checking these components. It's important to address this issue as it can lead to engine damage over time. I have a 2011 1X6, 4 l D. The two turbochargers have been replaced, the solenoid valves have been changed and the entire turbocharger system has been cleaned, but the problem persists. The engine light comes on at 1800 rpm and jerks on acceleration, as well as black smoke and a fairly strong smell from the exhaust. Can you help me? I've already spent over €2,000.

I'm sorry to hear about your ongoing issue. Given the symptoms you've described, it could be a problem with the fuel injectors or the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve. Both can cause black smoke, jerking, and a strong exhaust smell if they're malfunctioning. I would suggest having these components checked next. Please remember that these are just suggestions and it's always best to have a professional mechanic diagnose the issue. Keep us updated on your progress.
