Thanks for the quick reply. I'll check the connector for corrosion. Did you ever find the cause of the problem? Did cleaning the connector fix it, or was more needed?

Cleaning the connector helped temporarily, but the problem came back. I took it to a workshop, thinking it was the switch. They said the error was caused by my poor driving habits. I was pushing the brake pedal too lightly. The mechanic showed me how to operate it correctly.

Thanks for the advice. I paid more attention to how I used the brake pedal, and the problem disappeared. The workshop confirmed I was operating it correctly and found no issues. No costs were incurred.

I had a similar problem with my Boxer, but the error message wasn't consistent. It would appear, then disappear for days. The brake lights would sometimes fail. I suspected a wiring fault, maybe a loose connection. Have you checked the connector to the brake light switch for corrosion or damage? That's what I checked first.
