BR V Automatic Transmission Shifting Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Honda BR V owner experienced issues with the automatic transmission, including implausible shifting and the transmission indicator light illuminating. The problem was suspected to be related to undervoltage but was ultimately resolved by replacing the worn-out automatic transmission oil. This solution eliminated the shifting issues, confirming that the old hydraulic fluid was the cause.

Thank you for your response. The hydraulic fluid level was checked recently, and it seemed fine. However, do you think the old hydraulic fluid is causing the transmission performance to deteriorate? Considering the automatic transmission is in emergency mode.

Given the symptoms you're describing and the fact that the hydraulic fluid level appears normal, it may be prudent to seek a professional diagnosis to check the transmission performance. An oil replacement or potential sensor issue might be the cause. Furthermore, the cost to repair was around 240€.

I appreciate the suggestion. It turned out that the automatic transmission oil was indeed worn out. After replacing it, the shifting issues disappeared. Thanks for the help!

I have a BR V as well and encountered similar transmission behavior a while back. Was the hydraulic fluid level ever checked? A slipping transmission can also be a sign of internal damage, but that is a possibility.
