BR V sun blind failure
Summary of the thread
The sun blind in a 2023 Honda BR-V has failed at 69,309 km, refusing to retract or extend, with error messages indicating a problem. A faint clicking sound was noticed before the failure, suggesting a motor issue. The recommended solution is to have the motor diagnosed and potentially replaced at a workshop.

Yes, now that you mention it, there was a faint clicking sound for a few days before it packed it in completely. Like a tiny gremlin was trapped in the mechanism. Was that the same for you? Is it definitely the motor, or could it be something else jamming the sun blind?

Yep, clicking sound is a classic sign. Pretty sure it's the motor. You could try fiddling with it, but honestly, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly and replace the motor.

Thanks a bunch for confirming my suspicions! I was hoping it was something simple, but the clicking gremlin and your experience point to a bigger issue. I'll book it in at the workshop. Estimate is around 330€ for the repair. Appreciate the help!

I've got a BR-V too, and that sun blind issue sounds familiar. Mine was acting up similarly a while back – getting stuck and refusing to budge. Did you notice any strange noises before it completely failed? Like a grinding or clicking sound?
