Bravo power loss and smoke
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Fiat Bravo owner is experiencing reduced engine power and visible smoke during acceleration. The issue is suspected to be related to a bad diesel particulate filter (DPF), especially since the problem worsens when the engine is warm. A similar case was resolved by replacing the DPF, which is suggested as a potential solution.

Thanks. It seems worse when the engine is warm, after driving about half an hour. Was it always obvious for you, or did it come and go?

Mine was getting worse, until it was always there. I took it to a shop, and they said it was a bad DPF. Have you checked if the engine light is on?

Okay, I'll get it checked at a shop. Looks like a DPF replacement will be around 1550€. Thanks for the help.

Less power and smoke? Sounds familiar. Does it happen when the engine is cold, warm, or always? I drive a Bravo, too, and had a similar issue.
