Brio engine losing power
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Honda Brio was experiencing power loss, sluggish acceleration, and increased fuel consumption, with the check engine light on. The issue was suspected to be a sensor failure, possibly due to a vacuum leak affecting the manifold pressure sensor. It was advised to have a professional check for leaks, as they can diagnose and fix the problem efficiently. The car was taken to a shop, where the manifold pressure sensor was replaced, resolving the issue and improving engine performance.

Vacuum leaks, huh? How would I even check for that? Is it something I can do myself, or am I better off taking it to a shop? I really don’t want to mess anything up worse!

Honestly, if you're not super familiar with car engines, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. A large vacuum leakage could definitely cause the faulty manifold pressure sensor. They have tools to pinpoint those leaks quickly. It’ll be worth the money to avoid accidentally breaking something else.

I took your advice and went to my local shop. Turns out it was the manifold pressure sensor, probably caused by a leak like you said. The sensor replacement plus labor cost me 235€. Engine runs much better now! I'll keep an eye on it!

Sounds familiar... I own a Brio as well. I had similar problems a while ago. Have you checked for any vacuum leaks? That can mess with the manifold pressure sensor and cause all sorts of weirdness.
