C1 engine stalling after fuel filter change

I'm having a weird issue with my 2013 Citroen C1, gasoline engine. It's got 107624 km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and the engine sometimes stalls when idling. I've also noticed a drop in power, especially uphill. I recently changed the fuel filter, and I'm wondering if I messed something up because I have a stored error code now pointing towards a defective fuel pressure regulator. Anyone else had this after a fuel filter change?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra after a fuel filter replacement. Check engine light, rough idle, the works. Did you make sure the fuel lines were properly seated and tightened after the change? A slight pressure drop could trigger the regulator error.

Yeah, I thought I did, but maybe I should double-check. When you say pressure drop, how significant are we talking? And did the error code specifically point to the fuel pressure regulator in your case as well?

Well, on the Astra, even a small leak caused enough of a pressure imbalance to throw the fuel trims way off and trigger the CEL. And yep, it was the fuel pressure regulator error code. Honestly, after messing with it for a bit, I just took it to a workshop to get it sorted. Probably the best bet unless you have a proper scan tool to monitor fuel pressure.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I double-checked the lines, and they seemed fine. I decided to bite the bullet and take it to a local garage. Turns out the regulator was indeed faulty, probably got a surge when I replaced the filter. They swapped it out for 45€, and the C1 is running smoothly again. Appreciate the help!
